Fitscout

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 8 July 2026

Fitscout (“the app”, “we”) helps you catalogue clothes you own, generate outfit ideas, and — if you choose — share looks in a public weekly contest. Plain version: your closet is private to your account and you can delete it; anything you submit to the public contest is, by design, public.

What we collect

We do not collect contacts, advertising identifiers or behavioural analytics. We do not sell data. There is no advertising.

How your photos are used for AI tagging and moderation

When you add a piece, its image may be sent to a third-party AI vision provider (Google Gemini) to suggest a name, category, colour and style tags. When you submit to the public contest, your image and caption are sent to the same provider to check they are appropriate before they appear publicly. Images are sent only for these purposes and are not used by us to train models. You can skip AI tagging by entering details manually.

The public contest (user-generated content)

Entering the weekly contest is optional. If you submit, your photo/outfit image, caption and display name become public and visible to other users, and others can rate your entry. Every submission is automatically screened before it goes public. You can report any entry and block any user so you no longer see their content; reported content is reviewed and removed if it breaks the rules. You can withdraw your own entry at any time. Do not submit images of other people without their consent.

Location & weather

If you allow it, your device's approximate location is used to fetch local weather (via Open-Meteo) so suggestions match the temperature. Coordinates are sent to obtain the forecast and are not stored by us. You can deny location access and the rest of the app still works.

Where your data lives

Backend, authentication and image storage are provided by Supabase, in per-user records protected by row-level security so no other user can read your private closet, outfits or profile. AI tagging and contest moderation requests go to Google Gemini as described above.

Data retention and deletion

Your data is kept until you delete it. You can delete individual pieces, outfits and contest entries in the app at any time. To delete your entire account and all associated data, contact us and we will remove it.

Children

Fitscout is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your region). We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Security

Access to your data requires your authenticated session. AI provider and administrative keys are held server-side and never shipped inside the app. No system is perfectly secure, but we follow least-privilege access and isolate every user's private data.
